About the Role

Exponential Science is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Complex Systems with a strong scientific background and a passion for interdisciplinary research. The ideal candidate will have experience in modelling, analyzing, and simulating complex phenomena — from networks and collective behaviour to socio-economic systems and emerging technologies.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are eager to apply complex systems science to real-world, industry-driven challenges, translating theoretical insights into actionable outcomes.

This role is part of a broader initiative to explore the dynamics of real-world systems through data, theory, and computation. You'll work at the frontier between complex systems science, AI, and blockchain-based ecosystems, contributing to high-impact projects in a fast-paced, startup-like research environment.

We’re looking for someone who combines analytical rigour with creative thinking, and who thrives in both independent work and collaborative team settings.

Key Requirements

  • PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with Network Science tools and methods
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research group

Desirable Skills

Background knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

  • Blockchain / Cryptocurrencies
  • Collective and Emergent Phenomena
  • Great communication skills
  • Machine Learning and Data Science knowledgs
  • Experience working on interdisciplinary or applied research projects
  • Experience in writing academic papers and research grants
  • Familiarity with startup or innovation-driven environments
