Event Description:
The 2024 UN Climate Change Conference, also known as COP 29, is the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). This key event will gather world leaders, policymakers, scientists, and activists to address the urgent issues surrounding climate change and to negotiate global climate policies.
COP 29 is a critical event in the international climate calendar, following up on the agreements and discussions from previous conferences, including the implementation of the Paris Agreement. It will focus on accelerating global efforts to limit global warming, enhance climate resilience, and mobilise the necessary financial and technological support for climate action.
This year’s conference will include high-level negotiations, technical sessions, and side events that cover a wide range of topics such as mitigation, adaptation, finance, loss and damage, and the role of technology in combating climate change. The outcomes of COP 29 will play a pivotal role in shaping global climate policy and action in the years to come.
